A huge, huge thank you to our industry representatives who served as resource persons for today’s Senate hearing for the Design Council bill!
It’s such a privilege to be gaining so much insights from these incredible people — industry representatives who don’t just design for profit, but actually strive to use their craft to give back to the country. I’m very grateful to be working with designers with so much heart — heart that goes beyond just personal passion, but extends to things bigger than themselves. :)
On a lighter note: Tried not to get too starstruck with Kenneth, but it simply could not be helped (especially with those blue shoes).
And when he told me that he read my speech and that he thought it was very well-written, it felt like just the way I presume it would feel if I received my owl bearing an acceptance letter to Hogwarts.

SenTG with Team Manila.
You don’t know how awesome this is FOR ME. I’m at this place where I can’t even distinguish between what’s work, what’s life, and what are my dreams - they’ve just gone and thrown themselves into one big Venn Diagram Party.
This photo is from our studio tour yesterday - and a preview of even crazier things (and paradigm shifts) to come. *insert meaning-laden wink* ;)

SIDE STORY: So during my visit to the Senate last week, our butler-of-sorts, Kuya George, approaches me earnestly & seriously with a piece of paper and a pen, and starts this conversation:
KG: “Ma’am Arriane, ano daw po yung coffee na meron sa office niyo?”
Me: “Cappuccino. Or espresso. ….Hahahaha sandali Kuya George, bakit ka nangengealam?”
KG: “Kasi po Ma’am last week pagbalik ni Senator galing sa office mo tinawag niya ko sabi niya, ‘George, halika nga - pumunta ka sa office nila Arriane. Magpaturo ka gumawa ng kape. Masarap yung kape nila dun.’”
Me: “PUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA”
The End.
